After a relapse, stop the session, skip the “I already failed so I might as well continue” spiral, and restart the same night. The binge after the slip is the expensive part.
The search is usually happening during or right after a slip. Close it. Get out of the chair. Drink water. Do not hunt for a worse clip because the day is “already ruined.” That story turns a ten-minute lapse into a three-hour goon.
Then write one line: time, trigger, what was missing. Adjust one thing for tomorrow. Check in as still in the fight. Shame is a common next trigger. Treat the slip as data.
